Sahih Muslim Book 1, Hadith Number 341.

Chapter : Pertaining to his (Prophet’s) words: He is a Light; how could I see Him?-and his words: I saw the Light.

It is narrated on the authority of Abu Dharr: I asked the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him): Did you see thy Lord? He said: He is a light; now could I see Him?
