Sahih Muslim Book 1, Hadith Number 130.

Chapter : Calling the fugitive slave as infidel.

It is narrated on the authority of Jarir that the Messenger of Allah (may peace and blessings be upon him) observed: The slave who fled from his master, responsibility with regard to him was absolved.
