Abu Dawud Book 34, Hadith Number 4566.

Chapter : Bloodwit for a dhimmi a protected man in a muslim country.

Narated By Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-‘As : The Apostle of Allah (PBUH) said: The blood-wit for a man who makes a covenant is half of the blood-wit for a free man.

Abu Dawud said: It has been transmitted by Usamah b. Zaid al-Laithi and ‘Abd al-Rahman b. al-Harith on the authority of ‘Amr b. Shu’aib in a similar manner.
